Cormant Inc., a software development company specializing in IT infrastructure management solutions for the data center (DCIM) and beyond, today announced its CableSolve solution has been hand-selected to document, manage and monitor the physical layer IT infrastructure of Interop Las Vegas 2012, by delivering a single-pane-of-glass view into the assets and connectivity components of the InteropNet. This is the third consecutive InteropNet event participation for Cormant, who is also scheduled to speak during the InteropNet classroom sessions at Interop Las Vegas, happening May 6-10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Cormant will also be exhibiting CableSolve at the show in booth #2526 with live views of the entire InteropNet network available on the webWeb, smartphone and tablet.
The InteropNet is a temporary network that powers the Interop event, which in Las Vegas encompasses over more than 500,000 square feet. InteropNet is built in collaboration with carefully selected, innovative vendors and volunteers who come together to take on the ultimate networking challenge. Cormant’s CableSolve solution is an integral part of this, beginning in the initial planning phase by utilizing its unique portability feature to document the entire physical IT infrastructure, ensuring every asset, data and power connection are recorded to maximize uptime, ensure fast and efficient changes and facilitate rapid troubleshooting. This documentation, done through CableSolve, will then be used to manage the infrastructure restaging and subsequent troubleshooting and helpdesk operations on site.
“InteropNet brings together leading vendors, like CableSolve, who offer the latest solutions and technology innovations available, in order to build a reliable network for exhibitors and attendees,” said Glenn Evans, lead network engineer for Interop. “After the success of CableSolve’s involvement with the InteropNet in 2011, we look forward to the inclusion of their solution in 2012 as well. CableSolve will work with all the InteropNet vendors in Las Vegas to get the equipment racks ‘virtually’ staged prior to initial provisioning at Hotstage and provide insight into assets, configuration, connectivity and environmental position.”
“For over 25 years, Interop has brought leading vendors together to build a showcase network to foster interoperability and quicken the adoption of emerging technologies,” said Jennifer Jessup, Interop General Manager. “This year’s InteropNet participants play a key role in highlighting innovation and giving Interop attendees the confidence to incorporate the latest solutions into their own networks.”
Being that the InteropNet is the backbone of the Interop Conference and Expo, the focus for 2012 includes working with green IT operations, maximizing high-speed (Multi-Gigabit) network infrastructure and dData cCenter technologies. This year will center on integration and keeping systems, management and monitoring simple, stable and smart. It will also focus on showing how seamlessly two companies with different vendor models can integrate with each other.
“InteropNet Las Vegas 2012 is our third consecutive InteropNet event and we are thrilled to be able to provide a solution that has such an impact,” said Paul Goodison, CEO of Cormant. “With each new show we look forward to the challenge of putting CableSolve’s extensive capabilities to work and this will be a great opportunity to let the full range of visualization capabilities shine and really make a positive difference in the staging process.”
CableSolve provides a holistic approach to the documentation and management of data center assets, power, connectivity and space. CableSolve is the most trusted, configurable, flexible and portable data center infrastructure management solution available, providing complete visibility into the physical layer, including all assets and connectivity along with live logical layer data from SNMP and WMI devices. Additionally, with CableSolve’s portable handheld management module, IT managers are able to move, change, track and audit the entire IT infrastructure, including the assets and connectivity, using a pocket PC handheld device, tablet or smartphone.
