Cormant Announces CableSolve 6.3 with Complete Tablet Support via HTML 5

Cormant Inc., a software development company specializing in IT infrastructure management solutions for the data center (DCIM) and beyond, today announced the 6.3 version of CableSolve with complete web-based tabletsupport, mirroring interaction previously only available on the desktop version and CableSolve mobile device. Now, data center managers can reap the benefits of a single-pane-of-glass view into their assets and connectivity components with the flexibility to view them from any tablet that supports HTML 5, including iPads and Android tablets. This update also features significant enhancements to the CableSolve web interface, allowing for more efficient documentation, reporting, management and monitoring of the physical layer.

The improved functionality in CableSolve 6.3 supports tablet mobility and greater rack layout support to record and visualize equipment in the Zero U rackspace. This enables IT managers to determine what information is being displayed with the new scripting feature for greater visibility into the data center. Rack layouts are now automatically updated with database modifications ensuring accurate power information and capacity are stored and are viewable by end users, making historical reports easily accessible; all without any additional work required by staff to maintain the rack layouts.

“Delivering the additional mobility and accessibility of tablet functionality to our customers has been a top priority for us and we wanted to do this in the simplest way possible,” said Paul Goodison, CEO at Cormant. “We chose to utilize HTML 5 for the new version of CableSolve web because this enables cross-platform support on all tablets, as well as support for the web on Microsoft, Apple and Linux PC’s at the same time. This frees us up to focus on innovation in infrastructure management without having to tweak an app every time a new feature is introduced.”
Featuring a completely rewritten and updated dashboard with edit functionality, CableSolve 6.3 enables IT managers to add, move, update and delete components and connectivity on a day-to-day basis, ensuring records are always up-to-date. Additionally, the new CableSolve 6.3 interface presents a more modern user experience and the dashboard includes new graph widgets, resizable boxes and multiple tabs.

“One of the most appealing features in the CableSolve 6.3 update is the capability to log into the web version and make edits – not just see data,” said a data center project manager at a major Fortune 500 Telecom Giant. “Having the ability to make edits via the web has been a crucial time saver for the team.”
CableSolve provides a holistic approach to the documentation and management of data center assets, power, connectivity and space. CableSolve is the most trusted, configurable, flexible and portable data center infrastructure management solution available, providing complete visibility into the physical layer, including all assets and connectivity along with live logical layer data from SNMP and WMI devices. Additionally, with CableSolve’s portable handheld management module, IT managers are able to move, change, track and audit the entire IT infrastructure, including the assets and connectivity, using a pocket PC handheld device, tablet or smartphone.
